How NRF Foundation scholarships build confidence: ‘You can do this.’

Columbia College Chicago finalist reflects on experience

Robert Davison Long is one of the five finalists in the 2022 NRF Foundation Next Generation Scholarship – the highest honor the NRF Foundation awards to undergraduate students.

“I worked so hard. There were many nights where I was up in the wee hours of the morning. It was something I did not take for granted,” the Columbia College Chicago junior says. “What it taught me was patience with myself – to step back and say, ‘You can do this.’”

The top recipient of the 2022 NRF Foundation Next Generation Scholarship will receive $25,000, while the other four will each get $10,000. The announcement will be made on stage at the NRF Foundation Honors in New York City on April 13.
